Connected Light Sensor With 2 4GHz LoRa: How Is Its Range? (SX1280, Arduino, ESP32)
We all know: LoRa works very well for long distances. The traditional boards work on frequencies below 1GHz, and we were able to get connections to of up to 700 km to a balloon and a satellite in orbit 400 km away—cool stuff and highly successful.
Last year, Semtech announced a new LoRa chip, which works on the standard 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band. Expectations were high, and when I started to build my "connected light sensor," I thought, I could use these new boards. Do they fulfill the expectations?
I will try to use it for my connected light sensor.
